• 1. Why return by flight instead of driving back from Mount Kailash?

  Flying from Ngari Kunsha Airport saves two full days of driving and avoids fatigue on long bumpy roads. This makes the itinerary shorter, more comfortable, and ideal for travelers with limited time.

• 2. Is the 11-day itinerary enough for acclimatization?

  Yes. Starting in Lhasa allows you to acclimatize gradually. The overland route increases elevation step by step, significantly reducing the risk of altitude sickness before reaching the Kailash region.

• 3. Do I have to do the Kailash kora?

  No. The kora is optional.

  Travelers who want a spiritual challenge can complete the 3-day trek.

  Others may visit Darchen, Lake Manasarovar, and nearby monasteries without trekking.

• 4. What happens if the flight from Kunsha to Lhasa is delayed or cancelled?

  Ngari flights are generally reliable during high season. In case of delays, we will reorganize accommodations and adjust plans. If flights are cancelled due to weather, the backup option is driving back with an additional night on the road.

• 5. What kind of accommodations should I expect?

  In Lhasa, Shigatse, and Saga, you stay in 3-star hotels. In Manasarovar and Darchen, the accommodations are simpler guesthouses. While basic, we always choose the safest and cleanest options available in remote areas.

  It is a moderate- to high-difficulty trek due to altitude rather than distance. The toughest part is crossing Dolma La Pass. Travelers with good fitness can complete it, and our guides provide full support.

• 9. What is the best season for this tour?

  The best time is May to October. These months have stable weather, accessible roads, and clear visibility. The Saga Dawa Festival (May–June) is the most spiritual time to visit Kailash.

• 10. Can I customize the itinerary or upgrade hotels?

  Yes. This 11-day route can be customized with private vehicles, upgraded hotels in Lhasa/Shigatse, extra days for relaxation, or festival timing. We can tailor the trip based on your travel dates and preferences.

• 11. Can I modify the itinerary? For example, can I fly back to Lhasa from Burang (Purang) instead of Kunsha?

  Yes. This itinerary can be customized based on your preferred return method. Besides flying from Ngari Kunsha Airport, travelers can also choose to fly back to Lhasa from Burang (Purang) Airport, which is closer to the Kailash region and can further reduce driving time. Flight schedules in Purang may vary by season, so we can adjust the itinerary accordingly, including additional sightseeing or rest days before your departure.
