For a Kailash–Manasarovar journey, you will need:

(1) Tibet Travel Permit (TTP)

(2) Alien's Travel Permit (ATP)

Required for Shigatse, Everest region, and several checkpoints on the way to Kailash.

(3) Military Permit

Mandatory for entering Ngari Prefecture.

(4) Border Defense Permit
